As a Research Engineer in Cold Rolling and Annealing Decarbonization, you'll be part of our Downstream Processes team, which is responsible for developing and deploying process solutions for ArcelorMittal. Your role will involve working on R&D projects related to the development and deployment of solutions to master processes to produce steels with a focus on Cold Rolling and Batch Annealing processes, and for decarbonization purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to R&D projects dedicated to the development and application of physical and numerical models, as well as their laboratory trials and industrial validations, especially for Batch Annealing decarbonization
  • Develop and conduct Cold Rolling activities via physical Modelling, simulations, and experimental trials and validation in plants
  • Support different sites of ArcelorMittal in a worldwide perimeter to improve process conditions in existing lines (capacity, reliability, costs): manage industrial trials, numerical simulations, and process analyses
  • Support new product developments, including new steel grades
  • Participate actively in the digital transformation of the company

Requirements

  • Master degree or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or materials engineering
  • Knowledge in physical modelling
  • Excellent programming skills and proficiency in C/C++, .Net, as well as in Python for data analytics
  • Experience with Abaqus or an equivalent software would be a plus
  • Advanced levels of English and French
  • You are innovative, curious, and result-oriented
  • You have excellent communication skills as well as social skills to work in project teams within a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to travel worldwide
