The integration of these areas of expertise allows Equans teams to deliver efficient and optimized solutions throughout the energy and data chain, including production, storage, transport, usage, and maintenance of equipment. The Group Corporate Finance team at Equans is currently seeking a:

Financial Strategy Officer (M/F)
position based in Courbevoie (92)

The Group Corporate Finance Department consists of two team members and is responsible for:

  • Implementing and optimizing the financial structure of the Group and its subsidiaries
  • Managing financial risks for the Group (foreign exchange, interest rates, and commodities)
  • Ensuring the liquidity of the Group (establishing backup bilateral facilities for the TopCo of the Group)
  • Implementing bank guarantee facilities and surety programs
  • Organizing the upstreaming of cash from subsidiaries through dividends and loan repayments
  • Endorsing Group entities to policies related to the aforementioned topics (aligned with Bouygues' General Principles)
  • Coordinating bank relationships

This role presents an excellent opportunity to engage with various corporate finance topics, involving a high level of interaction both internally and externally.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Updating policies and procedures and endorsing Group subsidiaries
  • Monitoring off-balance sheet commitments such as parent company and bank guarantees
  • Managing financial risks, primarily foreign exchange risk (implementing financial risk policy, advising on hedging strategies, and overseeing trading floor operations)
  • Managing, deploying, and sponsoring Group tools such as FXAll (trading platform) and Fairways Guarantees (guarantee management tool)
  • Supporting Group liquidity through negotiations of backup bilateral facilities with financial institutions
  • Enhancing credit risk assessment (credit insurance programs, credit rating data, etc.)
  • Optimizing the Group's financial structure (through capital injections, loans, etc.) in collaboration with tax, legal, accounting, and treasury teams
  • Analyzing and implementing factoring and reverse factoring solutions
  • Improving managerial reports and dashboards related to the above subjects

Support to Subsidiaries

  • Collaborating closely through regular meetings with corporate finance, legal, and commercial teams of subsidiaries
  • Assisting teams in the business unit with the implementation of guarantee facilities
  • Providing support to operational companies regarding the management and implementation of all financing-related matters (equity, shareholder loans, working capital facilities, etc.)

Desired Profile:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • A strong passion for finance and related matters
  • High analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Power BI is an advantage
  • A university degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Relevant corporate finance experience in a major bank or international corporation is essential. Experience in Project Finance, Structured Finance, or Treasury Management is also considered valuable.
  • Fluent in English and French; proficiency in a third language is a plus
  • A flexible team player
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with top management and external parties such as banks and software providers
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
