Regional Technical Lines Underwriting Manager

Chubb, a leading global insurance company, is seeking a highly skilled Regional Technical Lines Underwriting Manager to join our team in the Continental European and Middle East North African (CEMENA) region. As a key member of our Technical Lines & Energy division, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional insurance solutions to clients across various industries.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting Guidelines & Referrals: Collaborate with the Regional Head to oversee and monitor underwriting activity, ensuring alignment with business strategy and underwriting guidelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for underwriting referrals.
- Engineering: Assist in prioritizing engineering desk-top reviews and survey requests, ensuring timely and accurate assessments.
- Underwriting Authority: Work with the Regional Head to establish and maintain consistency in underwriting authority delegation throughout the region, in line with business strategy.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement relevant training programs to equip underwriters with the necessary tools and knowledge within their delegated underwriting authority.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborate with country Line Managers and actuaries to implement consistent portfolio management processes, identifying areas of profitability and loss within individual portfolios.
- Underwriting Technical Audits: Participate in underwriting audits for the Line of Business across the region, monitoring compliance with underwriting directives and following up on recommendations.
- Peer Review: Collaborate with the CEMENA Head to ensure referral and peer review processes are executed in accordance with guidelines and consistently tracked.
- Support: Provide assistance to the CEMENA Head of Technical Lines & Energy in their absence or as needed.
- Professional insurance and/or engineering qualification with industry experience.
- At least 10 years of underwriting experience, including involvement with multinational accounts in both Property (Power/Energy) and Construction (CAR/EAR/Civils). Portfolio management experience is required.
- Results-driven with the ability to make independent decisions within the scope of underwriting guides and line strategy.
- Excellent team worker, able to work in a matrix environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English, fluency in other European languages desirable, preferably French or German.
