Research Engineer in Cold Rolling and Decarbonization Process Development

ArcelorMittal is a leading steel producer, committed to creating a better world with innovative steels. As a Research Engineer in Cold Rolling and Decarbonization, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying solutions to master processes and produce steels with a focus on Cold Rolling and Batch Annealing processes, with a focus on decarbonization.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to R&D projects dedicated to the development and application of physical and numerical models, as well as their laboratory trials and industrial validations, especially for Batch Annealing decarbonization.
- Develop and conduct Cold Rolling activities via physical modeling, simulations, and experimental trials and validation in plants.
- Support different sites of ArcelorMittal in a worldwide perimeter to improve process conditions in existing lines (capacity, reliability, costs): manage industrial trials, numerical simulations, and process analyses.
- Support new product developments, including new steel grades.
- Participate actively in the digital transformation of the company.
- Master's degree or PhD in mechanical engineering or materials engineering.
- Knowledge in physical modeling.
- Excellent programming skills and proficiency in C/C++,.Net, and Python for data analytics.
- Experience with Abaqus or an equivalent software would be a plus.
- Advanced levels of English and French.
- You are innovative, curious, and result-oriented.
- You have excellent communication skills as well as social skills to work in project teams within a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to travel worldwide.
