Chairperson of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education

The French Ministry for Higher Education and Research is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Chairperson of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education.
About the RoleThe Chairperson will be responsible for leading the High Council in its evaluation of higher education bodies, research structures, and initial training courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in evaluation and a proven track record of enhancing evaluation processes and increasing their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluating higher education bodies and their groupings, research bodies, scientific cooperation foundations, and private not-for-profit legal entities under contract with the French State.
- Evaluating research structures and units at the request of the legal entity to which they belong.
- Evaluating initial training courses delivered and qualifications issued by higher education bodies.
- Ensuring that all tasks assigned to higher education and research staff are taken into account in their appraisals.
- Evaluating major national research infrastructures and any structure created under private law receiving public funds for research or higher education.
- Evaluating the dissemination activity of scientific, technical and industrial culture within institutions and research structures.
- Promoting scientific integrity in evaluations.
- Evaluating measures promoting equality between women and men in organizations contributing to the higher education public service.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in evaluation and a proven track record of enhancing evaluation processes and increasing their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem. They will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
