About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at EPEX SPOT. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our API solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirement Review: Validate the clarity, completeness, and testability of project requirements to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Test Plan Development: Develop comprehensive test plans based on project requirements to ensure thorough coverage and effective testing.
  • Analysis and Design: Collect and assess the test basis, evaluate the testability of requirements, and design and prioritize test cases to ensure effective testing.
  • Test Execution: Execute planned test cases, both manual and automated, and document test case execution and defects accurately.
  • Reporting and Knowledge Sharing: Check test outcomes against exit criteria, maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to APIs, and provide release advice as input for decision-making.
  • API Design, Architecture, and Client Interaction: Design and architect API solutions to ensure they meet scalability, reliability, and performance standards, and act as a reference for API-related matters.
Requirements
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in software quality assurance practices and principles throughout the software development life cycle, advanced knowledge of API design principles, architecture, and implementation.
  • Documentation: Ability to document test deliverables clearly, completely, and traceably according to ISTQB and EPEX best practices.
  • Tooling Skills: Proficiency in working with Jira, Apwide, test management tools, Postman, and SOAPUI.
  • Test Plan Development: Competence in reviewing and developing comprehensive test plans based on project requirements.
  • Technical API Analysis: Ability to read and analyze technical files, queries, and documentation related to APIs.
  • Test Execution: Skill in executing planned test cases (manual and automated) and documenting test case execution and defects.

  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively within a team, maintain positive relationships, and effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
  • Adaptability and Proactivity: Flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they arise.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong capacity to analyze, synthesize information, and suggest innovative solutions to problems.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, IT, Science, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
  • Certifications: ISTQB/CFTL/TMAP Foundation Level, PSM1 (optional).
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years as a QA Analyst and 3 years working with APIs and Agile development methodologies.
Language Skills
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Additional Languages: Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is considered a plus.
