About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business and Planning Analyst to join our team at SCOR. As a key member of our Underwriting department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our Underwriting Plan and providing analytical insights to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Plan Development
    • Support the Head of Underwriting Planning and Forecasting in coordinating the production of the Underwriting Plan process, including data, process, tool, reporting, and timeline, for SCOR P&C.
    • Contribute to the development of the Underwriting Plan tool, ensuring that specific business needs are reflected in the design and implementation of the tool.
    • Help define business specifications for the tool to be developed by the Analytical Development and Analytical Data teams, with a focus on data quality.
  • Business Steering and Analytical Insights
    • Provide support to the annual performance analysis process on a worldwide basis for the SBS (Single Risk) portfolios.
    • Contribute to quarterly performance reviews of the SBS and Syndicate business.
    • Develop business insights and analyses to identify deviations from the planned, trends, and drivers of performance.
    • Support the CUO SBS and Head of SBS by developing analytics to monitor performance, undertaking market studies, and benchmarking exercises to identify opportunities.
  • Contribution to Analytical Tools and Proper Data
    • Follow the guidance of the Head of Underwriting Planning and Forecasting to harmonize the plan and renewal processes across business divisions of P&C and across different regions.
    • Improve the analytical toolkit and methodologies used to assess and control P&C business performance activity through consistent dashboards and aggregation tools.
    • Ensure underwriting data is fit for analysis.
    • Improve data accuracy and process efficiency, automating wherever possible and investigating tech solutions.
    Requirements
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector, in a technical function (actuarial, modeling, or underwriting support) is a must.
    • Actuarial background is preferred.
    • Superior analytical skills with strategic thinking and abilities to synthesize and present to others.
    • IT skills, including programming (e.g., SQL, Python, or R), is a plus.
    • Ability to interact with stakeholders both locally in London and globally in a multicultural environment.
    • Good team player, ability to develop network, internally and externally.
    Education
    • We are looking for a highly skilled technical person with a quantitative background (e.g., Bachelor/Master of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, etc.).
    • Data scientist or actuarial background are main assets.
    • Further insurance or financial-related studies are desirable.
