In the context of the META-TOO project, we are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to investigate and improve human interactions in social eXtended reality. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team at INRIA, working on the development of novel interaction techniques and technologies to enhance user experience and safety in virtual environments.
Research TopicsThe PhD student will focus on two main research topics:
- The impact of avatar and environment characteristics on the perception of inappropriate behavior in VR users.
- The design and evaluation of interaction techniques to cope with inappropriate behavior in VR environments.
The PhD student will be responsible for:
- Formulating research hypotheses and designing experiments in VR/AR.
- Conducting experiments and analyzing results.
- Collaborating with the team to publish studies at international conferences and journals.
The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in a relevant field, such as human-computer interaction or mixed reality. The candidate should also have experience in 3D/VR/AR applications, evaluation methods, and controlled user studies. Good programming skills and knowledge of languages such as C# or C++ are also required. Excellent communication skills and a strong background in research are essential.
