AXA is seeking a permanent position for a Manager of Research Philanthropy Initiatives within the AXA Research Fund - its global science philanthropy initiative.

AXA Group stands as a global leader in insurance and asset management.

Within the Group, you will be part of the AXA Research Fund, dedicated to supporting innovative scientific research addressing critical global risks in health, climate, and social economics. Our mission also includes disseminating research findings to inform decision-makers and society at large.

Since its inception in 2007, with a commitment of €M250, the AXA Research Fund has supported over 700 projects led by scientists from 60 nationalities across more than 340 prestigious academic institutions.

As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the health research ecosystem.
  • Identify and source exceptional candidates for scientific philanthropy funding, focusing on health research.
  • Contribute to strategic development and co-create impactful initiatives for the AXA Research Fund.
  • Manage institutional relationships with a select group of partners, ensuring alignment and compliance.
  • Foster a broader ecosystem of scientific philanthropy by building partnerships with other foundations and decision-making bodies.
  • Promote science by establishing a robust network of experts, organizing events, and supporting advocacy efforts.
  • Encourage meaningful collaboration between AXA and the academic community to support our sustainability strategy.
Your Profile

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, ideally blending Health, Science, and Philanthropy.
  • Specialization in health with a proven track record in developing health-related projects or products.
  • A solid understanding of the challenges and emerging risks facing our health systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance; familiarity with AXA is an advantage.

  • An international profile, fluent in both spoken and written English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage high-level executive relationships.
  • Proficiency in public speaking and event leadership.
  • Robust strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing information.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Effective organizational skills with a keen attention to quality.
  • Capacity to engage business correspondents at both entity and Group levels.
