Job Overview

The HR Country Manager is responsible for managing the Human Resources function within the country. This role ensures that HR practices align with business objectives and local regulations, providing strategic leadership while focusing on operations, administration, legal compliance, payroll, and compensation & benefits management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement local HR strategies that align with business objectives, providing strategic leadership to support organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the central headquarters and other regional leaders to implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and integration of local initiatives with global strategies.
  • Ensure that HR practices comply with local laws and regulations, providing guidance on legal and regulatory changes and ensure HR practices adhere to these requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a salary matrix that aligns with market trends and the company's compensation strategy.
  • Support the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Nurture a positive working environment by maintaining a strong employer-employee relationship while overseeing the full employee lifecycle.
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes in a legally compliant manner.
  • Lead the HR operations and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with local employment laws and company policies, including onboarding, development, and exit processes.
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including tax compliance, benefits administration, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage the HR department's country budget, preparing and controlling it to optimize resource utilization.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Drive HR process improvements and the implementation of HR systems to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of local labour law and HR best practices.
  • HR Functional Knowledge: Expertise in specific HR functions relevant to the role.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for addressing employee issues and finding practical solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to organize tasks, manage time, and maintain records.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy.
  • Initiative: Proactive approach to improving HR processes and programs.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is advantageous.
