Alstom's Software Engineering Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Software Department Head to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our Digital & Integrated Systems business unit, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technological leadership and innovation within our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Define and implement technical strategies and roadmaps in alignment with the business's objectives.
- Team Management: Manage the software engineering department's resource allocation, ensuring that teams are aligned with program-project prioritization.
- Software Engineering: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, design, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product releases and ensure that programs-projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Process Improvement: Drive the resolution of technical challenges and lead efforts to improve software engineering processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety railways standards.
- Leadership Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience leading large teams, and 7 or more years of software engineering experience.
- Technical Expertise: A strong foundation in embedded software development practices, programming languages, architecture, and system design.
- Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with a focus on mentoring, motivating, and guiding team members towards achieving technical excellence.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with peers and senior leaders, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
