About the Role:

New Balance is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing long-term sustainable relationships with accounts in the territory, maximizing all footwear and apparel sales targets, and assisting accounts to develop and grow their business with New Balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell In:
    • To ensure a qualitative follow-up and relationships with accounts and ensure multi-level contact
    • To achieve or exceed all footwear and apparel territory sales targets, including future's, ASAP, and clearance sales targets, in line with company objectives
    • To operate within our AM minimum Standards and to deliver professional customer-focused sales standards at all times, to include presentation excellence
  • Sell Through:
    • To continually analyze sales and margin performance versus targets and to take appropriate action to remedy any gaps
    • To work closely with your marketing contact to ensure effective co-op marketing activity with targeted strategic accounts
    • To obtain weekly sell-through data from accounts and act on the data provided
    • To develop action plans to achieve monthly order book conversion and annual targets and rectify any sales gaps
    • Inventory management and ASAP replenishment
  • Communication:
    • To provide structured customer/account feedback on our product and on competitor product innovations to the Sales Manager and to the Product team
    • To provide structured monthly account and product feedback to Line Manager, marketing, and the product teams
    • To communicate effectively to accounts about New Balance - our beliefs, values, objectives, and policies
  • Efficiency:
    • To produce sales forecasts for priority accounts by style, by month
    • To work closely with Customer Service teams to ensure service levels to accounts are maximized and to manage the order book from sales order to on-time delivery – Including order reconciliation, price/discount checks, and order book phasing
    • To work closely with Credit/Finance department to ensure speedy resolution of any payment issues
    • To understand and use company reports and statistics
    • To forecast monthly order book conversion on a weekly basis by account
    • To understand and operate within New Balance policies and procedures

Requirements for Success:

  • Full, clean driving license
  • Account management experience
  • Sales forecasting and planning skills with numerical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Good knowledge of and passion for the sports and lifestyle market
  • Good negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
  • Driven to achieve targets
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Analytical skills
  • High affinity to the brand
  • Ability to fulfill high levels of travel (weekly field presence over 20 departments)
  • Team player
