**The team you'll be part of**
- III-V Lab, the joint lab of Nokia Bell Labs, Thales TRT and CEA Leti :- These activities cover the following topics:
- Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for telecoms;
- Micro/nano-electronic circuits for telecoms: 40Gb/s, 100Gb/s and over;
- High resolution infrared imagery sensors ;
Located in Palaiseau, near Paris, its facilities include 4,000 m2 of clean rooms. Its staff is composed of around 100 permanent Researchers, plus around 25 PhD Students.
- III-V Lab masters the different steps needed to manufacture III-V components from design to characterisation:
- Design and modelling: electro-optical modelling for DFB, DBR and FP lasers, modulators and photo-detectors, electrical and thermal modelling of RF and power components;
- Epitaxy: MOCVD, MOVPE, MBE and GSMBE, including re-growth, selective area growth (SAG), butt-joint » and buried layers. Materials: GaN, AlGaN, InAlN, GaAs, InP, InGaAs, GaSb etc
- Process: metal and dielectric layer deposition, electronic lithography, stepper, etching (IBE, RIE, ICP, e-beam );
- Reliability: aging test-benches for electronic components and lasers ;
- Hybridisation: III-V on Si or other (molecular adherence, Indium bumps) ;
- Modules: design and fabrication of power RF electronic circuits and modules, lasers / photo receiver modules (pigtailed or not), PIC modules.

III-V Lab has also the capacity to produce limited quantities of epitaxial wafers, components, modules or subsystems). Such capacity is particularly adapted to address in a flexible way the rapid evolution of the market, offering to its members or partner industrial companies an early access to the components for their system development and even preliminary deployment; in a second step, depending on the market evolution, if larger quantities are required, the technology is transferred to an industrial company with larger production capacities.

**What you will learn and contribute to**
- The position will focus on III-V optoelectronics development and fabrication in the frame of projects with Nokia Business Groups and also in the context of European projects or specific needs of institutional and industrial customers.
- The applicant, within the Technology Platform of III-V Lab, will mainly focus on:
- InP Photonic Devices (EML, SOA, MZM, UTC,.)
- III-V-on-Si Photonic Integration (hybrid InP/silicon-on-insulator lasers and transmitters)
- Your mission will be, in constant interaction with designers and processing team members, to supervise and contribute in the fabrication and process development of advanced InP-based optoelectronic devices.
- Job Responsibilities & Competencies:

- The main missions are:
- Definition of wafer travelers and processing means to be implemented
- Process monitoring
- Follow-up of the fabrication batches and the respect of delivery schedules
- Development and consolidation of fabrication building blocks
- Responsible for processing tools
- Contribute to the investment plan
- Supervision of technicians
- Technical interface with customers.

**Your skills and experience**

You have:

- Master's degree or PhD
- Experience in the semiconductor industry or in academic laboratories
- Language English and French (at least intermediate)

The following skills or experiences would be an asset:

- Physico-chemical properties knowledge of related materials (III-V semiconductors, dielectrics, metals).
- Thin film technologies : CVD, PECVD, etching, deposition, plasma, lithography
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in III-V optoelectronics fabrication would be an asset
