Job title: RF exposure analysis for 5G devices

Nokia is committed to developing and deploying products that comply with national and international standards and regulations regarding human exposure to RF waves. RF exposure assessment reports are developed to evaluate the compliance of products at the time of market launch. Features are implemented and tested to ensure that exposure remains below applicable limits when products are put into service and during operational use.

Within the Mobile Networks Business Group and the 5G Product Architecture department, the EMF team conducts RF exposure assessments of products and oversees the development and testing of RF exposure control features through measurements in accordance with international standards (e.g. IEC 62232).

General Purpose of position

Learning the analysis of RF exposure measurements and counters for 5G devices and their new functionalities using the experimental validation platform of the Paris-Saclay campus and data collected on operational radio sites.

Role:
Handling of the validation bench in relation with the validation engineer (measurement equipment, terminals, base station, test protocol, uncertainty measurement according to IEC62232 standard)
Processing of meters collected on the validation platform and on the operational sites
Writing of validation reports according to the IEC62232 standard
Proposals and implementation of protocol evolutions for new 5G functionalities to be tested
Follow-up of the evolution of international standards and regulations for RF exposure assessment
Qualifications:
Master's degree or engineering studies in Computer Science or Telecommunications and Networks.
Use of radio measurement equipment (power meter, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer)
Knowledge of radio propagation, antennas and electronics
Processing of databases
Technical knowledge of mobile networks (5G and/or LTE)
Good experience working with computer tools (XL, PowerBI, VBA, Python, Matlab, scripting, etc.).

**Qualifications**:
Third year of engineering school or Master 2 or PhD in Computer Science or Telecommunications and Networking

Good knowledge of cloud computing technologies and the basics of wireless communications and/or telecommunications networks

Technical skills: C/C++ development, embedded systems, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes

Personal skills: sense of initiative, curiosity, autonomy, precision, good written and oral communication

Good level of written and spoken English required.
