**Duties**:
The Digital Production Coordinator** (also known as a Social Media Content Creator)** is one of two, works under the direct supervision of the Strategic Content Coordination Specialist or Public Affairs Officer (PAO) designee, and has no supervisory responsibilities. Is responsible for the production of all visual and multimedia elements of Mission public engagement, including design, creation, and acquisition of customized visual and multimedia content, that are disseminated online, in-person, or via traditional broadcast. Customizes online content and engagement to promote Mission objectives. Creates compelling visual content for all Mission outreach by assessing the preferences for content, formats, and dissemination channels of the French media public. Develops relationships and regular contact with social media companies, service providers, tweeters, online influencers, and platforms whose audiences amplify or influence Mission content. Provides guidance to Public Diplomacy (PD) Public Engagement staff and other Mission personnel who engage with online communities on trends, formats, and techniques to enhance visual messaging. Maintains the Mission’s public website. Tracks and analyzes the impact of Mission visual materials.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have strong creative skills and detailed knowledge of audio and video production, graphic design, and other visual content creation. Must understand how online digital properties and communities function. Must have detailed knowledge of the attitudes of target audience groups and their preferences for specific content, format, and delivery of visual communication. Knowledge of trends in regional and international communications patterns and how they affect the French communications landscape is required. General knowledge of digital promotion techniques, audience analysis and analytics, and customer service standards is required. Must have general knowledge of project management, including defining project objectives, outcomes, and assessment methods.

Detailed knowledge of legal regulations and procedural guidelines affecting use of visual and multimedia content as well as copyright and other restrictions on use of materials is required. General knowledge of U.S. foreign policy in France and comprehensive knowledge of the PD mission, its role in the Mission goals, and of both traditional and online engagement tools and programs used to convey U.S. foreign policy to the public is required

**Education**:University degree in design, advertising, communications, business, marketing, or local equivalent is required.

Fluent Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This will be tested)

Fluent Speaking/Reading/Writing French is required. (This will be tested)

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including to develop, and edit materials for digital dissemination in English and French.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
Analytic skills: Must have strong analytic skills to identify target audiences and understand how the use of images, graphics, video, and audio can affect their sensitivities. Must perceive the emergence of new audience preferences and trends in information consumption and visual and multimedia norms in order to produce targeted digital or traditional visual content. Must analyze content from multiple sources and determine when and how to use visual products.

Communication/Interpersonal skills: Must have excellent, documented story-telling skills to create visual, audio, and printed material in English and French. Must have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate on multimedia content for public engagement. Must contribute to Strategic Content discussions on priority engagement, strategic content, and use of visual and audio materials and dissemination channels. Must tailor communications to fit situations and different ethnic, religious, and linguistic cultures. Must speak publicly; must interpret between English and the French for discussions of content production.

Management skills: Must bring people together to identify and share content. Must resolve problems with use of multimedia content in public engagement. Must contribute to development of procedures and guidelines in response to changing technologies and public opinion, formats, and sharing visual and audio content. Must plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, such as marketing, information, or advocacy campaigns, and oversee associated project budgets, schedules, and daily operations to produce, adapt, and disseminate time-sensitive content in collaboration with the Strategic Content Coordination team. Must assess capacity and determine which acquisitions will meet current and future needs.
