We are seeking a Head of Data Science to support the growth of the company and building our data analytics SaaS platform for the retail industry, particularly in the context of the increasing diversity of volumes, sources, and types of data utilized by the organization.

We work on solutions that:

- Handle large volumes of diverse data from IoT/event streams, computer vision, transactional, operational, and supply chain sources
- Enrich AI and Computer Vision capabilities with a business intelligence layer, transforming data into actionable insights for retailers

**Your Role**

As a member of Memory's Data Team, your role will involve leading and managing the data analytics and machine learning teams

Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Management and organization of the data analysts/scientists and machine learning engineers
- Define the team’s vision and assess individual objectives, providing regular feedback
- Act as the main contact point for stakeholders when referring to analytics, statistical or machine learning approaches (internal or external), arbitrating between the requirements specifications and priorities
- Lead conversations related to the design and implementation of analytics solutions based on statistical/data science or machine learning approaches
- Manage the delivery of data analysis/data science studies requested from our clients or internal consulting teams
- Lead R&D documentation/watch work related to analytics, AI or ML topics as well as performing associated internal training and communication across the team
- Foster a collaborative mindset to strengthen autonomy and accountability within multidisciplinary teams including, Data Platform and Engineering, Infrastructure, Software, Product, Consulting
- Lead the recruitment process in collaboration with HR

**Qualifications** Profile Sought**
- We are looking for someone with a track record in analytics, data science leadership roles with a history of delivering analytics and AI/ML solutions
- Someone that has a deep understanding of the technical complexity of implementing statistical or machine learning models
- Someone that is customer / business oriented, that can engage with stakeholders and solve their problems alignment, project delivery and change management.
- Experience managing data analytics, data science and/or machine learning teams
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one object oriented programming language
- Some experience with any ML/DL frameworks such as Pytorch, TensforFlow, HuggingFace
- Some experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks, such as Spark/Databricks
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bonus point: previous experience in the retail field
