**Mission**:
- Reporting to the EMEA Materials Director, the EMEA Deputy Materials Director is a key leader responsible for driving the group's MATERIALS activities within the EMEA region. This dynamic role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, potentially including:
- Circular Economy (Demolition, Inert/Non-inert landfilling, Soil Remediation and Depollution)
- Natural and recycled aggregates,
- Ready-mixed concrete (RMC) and its related activities (prefabrication, etc.)
**Geographical Scope**:
The current Materials activities span the following geographical Business Units:
- ** Central Europe**: Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia
- ** Northern Europe**: Denmark, Finland, Iceland
- ** Western Europe**: Belgium, Switzerland, Germany
- ** British Isles**: Great Britain, Ireland
- ** LATAM**: Chile
- ** MACAO**: Ivory Coast, Gabon, Morocco
- ** MESEA**: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia
While the Deputy Materials Director has primary responsibility for developing the Circular Economy, they will collaborate closely with the Materials Director to share the overall workload across these territories, adapting to the evolving needs of each area.
This function aligns with the group's matrix organizational principle: a territorial BU dimension (EMEA) and a cross-functional business dimension (Keystone).
**Responsibilities**:
**Circular Economy**:
- Spearhead the development of the Circular Economy in coordination with regional teams.
- Conduct legal analyses, market assessments, and identify growth opportunities.
- Make informed go/no-go decisions for new initiatives.
- Monitor progress and ensure successful implementation.
**Strategy & Business Development**:
- Play an active role in defining and executing the Materials strategy (Ambitions 2030) in collaboration with the Materials Director.
- Coordinate strategic plans across countries.
- Participate in Materials development projects (Greenfields and M&A) adhering to group procedures.
- Facilitate the integration of new entities/companies within the assigned scope.
**Operational Excellence & P&L Management**:
- Drive performance management and operational excellence initiatives in partnership with Keystone.
- Collaborate with the Materials Director and Country Materials Managers to assess performance based on technical and financial KPIs.
- Provide monthly reports on the performance of each geographical BU and associated countries.
- Actively participate in budgeting processes and challenge geographical and country BUs.
- Oversee and monitor action plans for each geographical BU and associated countries.
**CAPEX Optimization & Oversight**:
- Ensure efficient utilization and optimization of CAPEX allocated to the dedicated perimeter.
- Monitor major investment projects, adhering to group procedures.
- Ensure alignment with provisional business plan objectives.
**Talent & Organizational Development**:
- Contribute to fostering a strong Materials branch in EMEA.
- Collaborate with HR to identify and develop talent, recruit young executives, create succession plans, and implement training programs (e.g., Materials Academy).
- Foster a network of experts, promote knowledge sharing, and identify/deploy best practices.
**Safety & Sustainability**:
- Implement Corporate programs on Low Carbon & Biodiversity (ACT), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the group's ethical policy, and ONE SAFETY projects within the assigned scope.
- Uphold and promote the group's values.
- Proactively identify and implement improvement opportunities.

- Strong technical and commercial knowledge of Circular Economy, Aggregates, and related activities.

- Self-motivated, proactive, and results oriented.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English.
The position is based in Paris at the headquarters of COLAS SA, in the EMEA department. Due to the nature of the position, business trips abroad are to be expected.
