**Volvo GTT Lyon **has an opening for a **Mechanical Design Engineer **to join the professional collegial team at Group Truck Technology. This is a permanent full-time position.
In the role of Mechanical Engineer for Standard Part and frame, supported by Senior Fastener and frame Experts. You will be in charge to support them on fasteners and frame development, maintenance and quality issues.

**Your future team**
Our team (CSETA) is responsible for Renault Trucks Heavy Duty range, and we are supporting Medium Duty Europe by the help of our strong and wide knowledge in strategic and critical areas. We are in charge of the Chassis Structure, equipment, Transport Adaptation and Simulation. We work cross sites (Sweden, India, US, Brazil,) and cross functionally. Also you will be part of Joint Technology & Standard Parts. This is a global team responsible for fasteners and Standard Parts management, constantly optimizing fastening concepts and assembly processes for all Trucks segments.
We interact with a wide network belonging to other organizations such as Purchasing, After market, Assembly plants, Validation and Verifications,

What’s in it for you?
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years' experience in engineering_
Fluent in English and ideally familiar with French
Fully-trained as a mechanical engineer and proficient in various technical fields (fasteners, metallic + plastic materials, heat / surface treatment finite element calculations, )
Standard Parts selection upon engineering requests according to technology roadmaps and global standardization policy
1st-line helpdesk for Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Aftermarket departments about issues
Handling Standard Part creation, frame hole and calc + update in our PDM system
Supplier follow up and development
Good organizational skills
Team player with a good work ethic and a flexible approach to reach commitments.
Enthusiastic, good relationships & communication skills, open-minded & quick-learner
- Ability to lead cross-functional work and multi-cultural teams_
