**The opportunity**
We are recruiting an Organizational Development Manager for our client based in Africa. This is a permanent role, Site-based (FIFO contract (rotation 6 weeks in and 3 weeks off)).
This position is responsible for supporting client’s Operations in assessing and managing organisational needs, delivering strategic talent & performance management initiatives. Key practice areas include strategic talent acquisition, performance management, talent mapping, career pathing, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement and organisational culture management.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously diagnosing the organisation, processes, and structures to establish relevant levels of work, and realigning structures and processes to current business goals
- Effective development of plans to implement relevant changes
- Work closely with the GM HR to oversee and update the organisation chart when required
- Assist in conducting job analyses and evaluations
- Provide support in the development of a competitive compensation and benefits strategy
- Develop talent management strategies to drive employee engagement and organisational performance
- Partner with site leadership to assess, design, implement, and evaluate ongoing development solutions for leadership roles
- Compile and update the organisational Succession Plan for all GM, Manager and Superintendent roles
- Continually assess leadership programs, technology, best practices, and innovation related to talent management to champion organisational improvements
- Train, coach, and advise the site leadership on the use, development, and implementation of individual development plans (IDPs), and monitor the progress thereof
- Work closely with the T&D section to develop and/or implement career pathing tools, the roll-out of a secondment program and drive the site’s Mentorship Program
- Design and implement effective performance management processes, tools, and resources
- Lead all engagement surveys / employee feedback initiatives to enable site leadership to identify opportunities and leverage resources to build specific action and/or remedial plans
- Promote and lead the standardization of talent and performance management processes
- Identify and implement ongoing process improvements
- Develop and oversee control systems to manage internal policies
- Evaluate the efficiency and efficacy of controls and improve them continuously
- Review audit reports to monitor compliance of key department processes, and follow-up with open items to ensure closure.
- Work with the HRBP team members to ensure collection and analysis of data to prepare, submit and implement improvements, as well as deliver effectively reporting
- Identify and monitor the company culture and/or climate, to ensure that it supports client’s goals and promotes employee satisfaction and engagement
**Minimum qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field
**Beneficial qualifications**
Additional qualification or Certification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology and/or Organizational Development
**Experience, Knowledge, technical skills**
- 10 years’ experience in the mining industry and specifically in implementing organisational change initiatives
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource fields, including training and development, organisational diagnosis, diversity, and organizational culture
- Bilingual (English/French) is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, monitor and control
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage projects and initiatives
- Negotiation and leadership capability to support change management initiatives
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and effectively interact with different levels of Management
- Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate to effectively and efficiently analyze and resolve identified problems
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly
- A recognized and comfortable change-agent
- Resilient, self-motivated, and reliable self-starter
