Our main missions, closely linked to SDG 5 are:

- The promotion of women photographers of all origins and nationalities.
- Work for Equality and diversity in the world through photography.

The roots for IWPA’s work lie in the underrepresentation of women photographers in a world where just a minor share of photographs which surround us in different media and supports are taken by women. Male-orientated views and stereotypes of women within photographic imagery compound the problem and perpetuate inequality. By putting emphasis on women’s perspective of our world, IWPA draws attention to social issues that are often ignored or simply not covered.

IWPA goals & ambitions are:

- Increase the visibility and diversity of women photographers in the field of photography
- Use photography as an empowerment tool for girls and women
- Use photography as a tool to promote tolerant and non-sexist values

So far, the organisation’s best known action has been the IWPA photography award, run since 2016, open to women photographers from all over the world, allowing women visual story tellers globally to express their visions. An international jury made up of personalities from the art and photography fields chooses a laureate, 5 finalists and 3 special thematic mentions. Every year, exhibitions are organized in Asia, the Middle East and Europe to show the awarded work, promoting their plural visions of social, cultural and human issues while providing international exposure and raising awareness about women’s voices.

IWPA federates today a community of some 3000 women visual storytellers from +100 countries, with a group of 40 past laureates and their awarded projects.

**Description du poste**

At International Women in Photo Geneva we 're keen of finding new volunteers on different levels;
- IWPA Award. The open call for our international award for women photographers will be launched on September. The inter/s will work with the responsible member of the team in the preparation of support materials + definition of communication partnerships, among other tasks.
- My Photo My Voice projects aroeund the world; empowering the voices of women and girls around the world with photography and the photovoice technique
- Awareness, Communications. Write and prepare press releases information briefs, attend conferences and meetings and present IWPA's work and views
- Exhibitions. Help in the set up of exhibistions in Switzerland
- Fundraising. tasks related to fundraising and grant writing.

PROFILE

Minimum Bachelor in Social Entrepreneurship, Business and management studies, Cultural Management, Photography, other relevant fields.

Besed in Geneva

Passionate about women empowerment.

Fluent English mandatory.
