Our Development Optimization department at RWE Renewables Europe & Australia is responsible for steering the development pipeline and developing optimization opportunities for projects such as innovative technologies and services and making them ready for deployment at scale across all relevant markets.
We are looking for a **Team Lead Pipeline & Portfolio Management (f/m/d)** to steer the development pipeline, drive implementation of standards and tools for best practice portfolio management and support the senior leaders in their strategic portfolio decisions.
**Your tasks**:
- Head of the Pipeline & Portfolio Management team of 6 employees currently based in 2 countries, including all line management duties
- Steer the onshore wind, PV and battery storage development portfolio across 11 countries:
- Advise senior leadership (incl. board) on progress of the pipeline and identify potential pipeline risks early on, so that mitigations can be put in place
- Consistently ensure a high quality of pipeline reporting by developing tools and routines to spot quality issues early and by establishing a trustful collaboration with development leaders, global project managers and controlling
- Provide suitable tools and frameworks (e.g., on risk management or value management) to development leaders and train them in the use thereof to enable portfolio steering in their area of responsibility
- Enable benchmarking on various development dimensions by providing the right tools, processes and leaders’ trainings for the development leaders in all 11 countries
- Provide all required reports on pipeline status to the relevant stakeholders, thereby acting as single source of truth for development pipeline information
- Run and maintain the reporting infrastructure and ensure it is fit for new project types like hybrids (wind, PV, BESS), specific technologies like agri/floating PV and further specific reporting requirements (e.g., on ESG)
- Drive process standardization, continuous improvement, digitalization and automation across all markets in trusted collaboration with relevant departments like development, digital transformation, controlling, business transformation
- Coordinate planning cycles across all 11 markets in trusted collaboration with Controlling
- Own the digital tools as business owner, which are core to fulfilling the pipeline & portfolio management tasks and train new users in the tools to aid high quality use of them
- Drive and support strategic optimization initiatives across markets and project life cycle stages in a trusted collaboration with relevant other departments
- Understand portfolio management best practice and industry trends and bring relevant developments into the company by representing the company on portfolio management related topics at events, in networks and towards relevant institutions
**Your qualifications**:
- At least 8 years of professional experience in Renewables; experience in several RWE Renewables Europe & Australia markets and across functions and/or onshore wind, PV, storage technologies strongly desired
- Excellent program and project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading project teams in complex, international environments
- Comprehensive understanding of technical, economic and legal contexts in the development of onshore Renewables projects
- Extensive market knowledge of the markets in Europe and Australia in which RWE Renewables Onshore & PV Europe & Australia is active
- Fluency in English (written/oral); knowledge of other European languages from RWE Renewables Europe & Australia markets (German, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch, Swedish, Greek or Polish) are desirable
- Willingness to travel regularly
