Job Summary:
As a Senior Compliance Officer for Kitakami UK, a licensed Electronic Money Institution (EMI) from the British authorities, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our online ewallet and payment services operations adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the compliance program to mitigate legal and regulatory risks, as well as maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company's online activities comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Stay current on regulatory changes and adapt policies and procedures accordingly. You have a good knowledge of electronic money and payment services UK and EU regulation. You are also interested in future UK and EU regulation such as MICA (Markets in Cyrpto Assets) concerning crypto assets.

2. Policy Development: Develop, maintain, and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect the latest legal requirements and industry best practices.

3. Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and prioritize compliance risks related to ewallet and payment services operations. Develop and execute strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.

4. Training and Education: Conduct compliance training programs for employees to promote a culture of compliance and awareness. Keep staff informed of regulatory developments.

5. Monitoring and Reporting: Implement a compliance monitoring system to regularly assess the effectiveness of the compliance program. Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.

6. Internal Investigations: Lead or assist in conducting internal investigations into compliance issues or potential breaches. Recommend corrective actions and follow up on their implementation.

7. Compliance Audits: Coordinate and oversee compliance audits and examinations by regulatory authorities. Address any findings and ensure timely resolution.

8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, issues, and resolutions, ensuring data is readily available for audits and reviews.

9. Whistleblower Program: Manage and oversee a whistleblower program to encourage the reporting of unethical or non-compliant behavior within the organization.

10. Advisory Role: Provide guidance and advice to other departments and management on compliance-related matters, including new product launches and business initiatives.

11. External Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external partners to stay informed about industry trends and emerging regulations.

Qualifications:
1. Masters in Science (MsC) degree in audit, compliance, finance, law, or a related field. A University degree is accepted. Advanced degrees or certifications in compliance or related fields are a plus).

2. Proven experience (3-5 years) in compliance or a related role within the payments industry sector in the UK. Experience with fintech payments is a big plus. Hands-on approach, a fast learner.

3. Strong knowledge of payment services provider regulations, including but not limited to BSA/AML, and consumer protection laws.

4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with top management and with colleagues.

6. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

7. Ability to adapt to changing regulations and priorities.

8. Ethical and principled, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity.

9. English as a mother tongue (or C2 equivalent). French (B2 level) a plus. Good knowledge of Chinese a big plus (B2 level).
