**Overall Purpose of The Job**
- To ensure that the Company has the expertise and capability to sustain all its activities with regards to cruise and itinerary planning, shore excursion to passengers, port operations including fuel bunkering, and agency services.
To ensure that all above operations are conducted in accordance with high quality standards, and that proper regard is given to applicable local regulations; that the efficiency of operations is kept under review and any necessary action is taken to maintain it at a defined level.
To ensure that the Company's Safety & Quality Management System is fully implemented as applicable to the above activities.
**Key Responsibilities and Tasks**
- CRUISE AND ITINERARY PLANNING:
To ensure planning, evaluation and risk assessment of itineraries, ports and voyages for assigned vessels
Ensure environmental compliance for itineraries that require certain regulations,
To liaise closely with Owners for approval of the above and for any unresolved concerns to the proposed itinerary, ports or voyages.
To ensure verification is made for the ships’ suitability for the itineraries taking also into account: ship’s stores (water, bunkers etc.) and capacities where contracted to design itineraries. waste generation rates, storage capacities and shipboard processing equipment for certain itineraries in remote areas with insufficient PRFs for ship generated waste, in particular hazardous waste
To ensure assigned ships’ are assisted in their ocean routing with regards to weather and ice conditions, as required
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT IN PORT OPERATIONS TO VESSELS:
Ensure an established bunker plan for assigned vessels which identifies the most valuable ports where fuel of adequate quality, compliant fuel and minimum quantity for stability, reaching the next bunkering port safely and other relevant bunker arrangements are made where contracted to
Ensure assigned vessels are supported with offload services for landing of wastes where required.
Ensure assigned vessels are adequately supported with Agency Services through an approved Agency network along their itineraries
To ensure, where contracted to, shore excursion services for passengers.
MONITORING OF SHIPS’ PERFORMANCE:
To ensure oversight on assigned ships’ returns like voyage reports, voyage standard messages for arrival, departure, noon and canal transits and other performance reports as required
To ensure that appropriate reports from assigned ships are monitored and followed up with reference to bunkers, stores and water lifted, wastes offloaded, port expenses made
PORT COST CONTROL:
To ensure port costs are monitored and disbursements accounts controlled
To ensure any comments regarding Assigned Agents’ services are monitored and followed up
Approving bunker invoices
BUDGET CONTROL:
Requesting proforma and checking these proforma are in line with port tariffs and agreements in place,
To ensure that effective cost control is exercised for assigned vessels as per contracted services
Ensuring pre-funding to agents where necessary
Approving disbursement of account and coding related expenses
CLIENT LIAISON:
To maintain contact with clients and Owners for related services and dealing with any complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
BUDGETS:
To propose relevant budgets for contracted services and work within them
Monitor budget reporting as and when required
STAFF AND DEPARTMENT PERFORMACE:
To supervise the activities of assigned Staff in the Department and coordinate their activities
To ensure subordinates have the skills necessary for their responsibilities, to train and coach tem, monitor and supervise their performance through regular appraisals
To determine/ set KPIs, objectives for improvement of his/her department performance, monitor relevant status of achievement and follow up actions
