The Accounts Payable Lead

**Role and **Responsibilities**
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounts payable staff.
- Oversee the daily processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Ensure all payments are processed on time and according to company policies.
- Verify and reconcile discrepancies in vendor statements and accounts.
- Manage the weekly check run and electronic payments.
- Monitor and manage the AP inbox to address vendor inquiries and internal requests promptly.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Negotiate payment terms and schedules with vendors as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the accounts payable function.
- Collaborate in the procurement creation process.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and relevant regulations.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset and curiosity
- Ability to adapt in a multicultural environment
- Fluent in verbal and written English/French

**Preferred** **Qualifications**
- Experience in an international company.
- Startup or scaleup environment preferred
