Offshore Turbine Controls Modelling Internship

**Job Description Summary**: Offshore Wind Turbine Controls Intern is expected to closely collaborate with Controls Software development and validation teams and develop features according to Specifications by following development workflows and Agile principles. This role is specifically to develop the validation models and to help developing the validation platforms which in turn helps in improving the quality of the software with reduction cycle time. The creation of a validation platform implies the development of a whole toolchain to adapt our existing tools and automatize the different tasks needed to be able to run a test case within this validation platform.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Get familiar with the current verification process, support the verification team during one sprint with SIL verification
- Understand, develop and validate models to support the validation of Controls specifications by following standard workflow, guidelines.
- Learn the complete Controls development workflow and understand roadmap of the validation team
- Able to interpret the Specifications and demonstrate clear analytical skills to translate them as Controls requirements.
- Ability to communicate and discuss with specification owners and develop test plans according to Specifications.

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited College or University, or last year of university or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Knowledge of controls Design and/or modelling of control systems.
- Familiarity and practical experience with agile methodologies
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills and a positive energy
- A strong commitment to a career in technology and passion/aptitude for engineering.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with experience in software industry standards and development tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving and proactive learning.
- Technology enthusiast. Passion/aptitude for both modelling and analysis.
- Interest to learn more about System design, Simulation models/toolchains development, Scripting, LEAN Mindset

**Desired Characteristics**
- Experience with real time controls design or modeling
- Strong academic exposure in Controls design and projects are preferred
- Proficient in Matlab / Simulink for the design and validation of controls systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Control system design experience (GE family of PLCs is a plus)
- PLC/HMI programming and control system design.
