Compared to other cancers, pancreatic cancer is relatively rare but only about 8.5% of patients are alive five years after their diagnosis. This one of the lowest survival rates for any kind of cancer. In order to improve future medicine, the understanding of the molecular physiopathology of the disease is mandatory to discover relevant therapeutic targets and biomarkers for patient stratification. In partnership with Oncodesign we are involved in the ONCOSNIPE project, a prospective exploratory clinical study based on pancreatic locally advanced or metastatic cancer. the aim is to assess molecular profiles associated with the appearance of resistance in pancreatic cancer patients and to develop and implement artificial intelligence approaches against cancer.
Over a 3-year period, under the supervision of a senior scientist (PhD), and within the Molecular Genomics department you will be involved in the ONCOSNIPE project devoted to advance or metastatic pancreatic cancer research. Using the state of the art of the NGS technology you will generate single cell genomics data combining both RNA-seq and ATAC-seq (epigenetics) experiments from samples collected during clinical exploratory longitudinal studies. Additional WES experiments will be also included.
Accoutabilities:
- Using the 10X Genomics platform to perform and supervise single-cell genomics experiments (RNA-Seq/ ATAC-Seq) from clinical pancreatic cancer samples including PBMC, tumor biopsies and organoid-derived tumor biopsies
- To perform and supervise NGS experiments (NovaSeq 6000, Illumina), including WES
- To collaborate with the molecular genomic expert teams for NGS experiments (Illumina) and single cell analysis (10x Genomics) and bioinformatics teams to understand the data analysis.
- To provide scientific and experimental design support to the project teams
- To coordinate (functional manager)/ plan the activity of one engineer fully involved in the project experiments.
- To present, communicate results, write e-lab notebook and participate to publication writing.
