The Role
Here’s What You’ll Do
Increase awareness of Moderna’s leadership in mRNA science, platform, pipeline, technology and commitment to citizenship
Create and execute communication strategies that align with the corporate and regional business objectives and reinforce the reputation and employer branding of Moderna across the EU
Support senior leaders with considered counsel on reputation related matters and leading issues preparations and response
Identify and maintain working relationships with key journalists and bloggers and act as a first point of contact and spokesperson for local media inquiries
Ensure on-time delivery of regional media monitoring, key message development and company press events - working in partnership with local market leaders where appropriate
Lead with a digital-first mindset for consumer and customer engagement, including development of strategy and execution, for an effective and efficient promotion across stakeholders and consumer channels.
Develop multi-channel consumer strategies and tactics grounded in deep insights and environment understanding to change consumers’ perception.
Develop and execute campaigns that incorporate public relations and marketing communications principles and tactics to maximize all channels available to engage consumers and stakeholders.
Create and execute projects supporting approved and pipeline vaccines, including disease awareness campaigns. Every tactic and campaigns should be developed in alignment with the global brand and Moderna corporate profile considerations.
Partner with corporate communications, global marketing, medical, stakeholder engagement, market access, government relations and external partners, creating positive partnerships that ensure alignment of business needs and objectives
Develop process and internal governance to support and enable innovative solutions, digital tactics and multi-channel engagement.
Work with the team and its agency partners to develop and execute digital and social media plans
Keep management updated on breaking industry or company-specific news
Partner with industry, technology, business partners and strategic collaborators in developing opportunities for joint engagement
As needed, help support other external programs and initiatives
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
A university degree in a relevant field of study, such as communications, journalism, political science, and/or European studies
10+ years of experience of digital and strong consumer marketing experience
Demonstrated experience using innovative technologies and platforms
Proven experience with deep digital and multichannel content development, consumer campaign development and management, and deep social media use
An understanding of the drug development process and biopharma space
Demonstrated experience using digital platforms, social media and CRM - inclusive of using various channels to drive acquisition, conversion, adherence/loyalty, both in and out of our industry
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Prior experience working on topics related to oncology, rare diseases or infectious diseases is helpful but not required
Fluency in social and digital communications
Superior communication skills - both verbal and written
A collaborative, solution-oriented and problem-solving approach to challenges as well as being open-minded to new ideas and approaches
Strong strategic thinking and hands on execution is critical.
Genuine interest in media relations, social media and commitment to staying current on healthcare news
Strong interpersonal skills & relationship-builder, including media relationships
Track record of quick follow up with others
A high level of initiative, a strong work ethic, creativity and the ability to balance multiple assignments
Is aware of, and able to, work within all local laws, regulations, incl. internal compliance
Team player - both with internal colleagues and agency partners
Ability to be flexible and work well under pressure with mínimal supervision
