**WHY WE NEED YOU ?**

As Scaleway continues to grow, we’re looking for a **Hardware Support Apprentice**to join our Hardware Support team. The group responsible for managing all of the company’s hardware-related activities. As an apprentice, your mission will be to assist in handling everything from hardware qualification to prototype and rack-level design, tool development, and ongoing hardware support. Your interpersonal skills and technical curiosity will be key to helping us meet our daily challenges.

**YOUR FUTURE TEAM**:
We work in a **collaborative and international** environment where the diversity of Scalers, combined with a spirit of sharing, helps bring new projects to life every day, advancing our ambitions together.

You will be part of a team of around 8 people. Under the guidance of your team leader, you'll be responsible for supporting all hardware server assets in production during their respective life cycle. The team interacts with all internal teams and does not interact directly with the end customer. This includes a lot of respective activities and implies working and interacting with a lot of people internally.

Your role will involve handling 10s thousands of servers and we're growing fast; the team aims to grow accordingly.

More, Scaleway is adopting HPC technologies, and you'll be part of the team that ensure support of the HPC clusters.

**YOUR DAILY ROUTINE**:

- To support and maintain the production and internal infrastructure servers from a hardware perspective
- To secure a high level of availability and quality for the servers in production by making sure to implement all the required actions
- To engage with all the other internal teams (data center teams, logistics teams, etc) or hardware vendors according to the contract and support/SLA contracts, and follow up until the problem is fixed
- To document technical information, procedures, and action plans
- To implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary
- To support HPC clusters : diagnosing hardware faults and managing RMA with manufacturers while complying with strong SLA.

- Various Linux OS (we tend to prefer Ubuntu and Debian)

**ABOUT YOU**:
SOFTSKILLS:

- Passionate about cloud computing, hosting, hardware or data centers
- Capacity to share and document information and experience
- Team player, curious, self-motivated

HARDSKILLS:

- Excellent command of English and French
- Knowledge of the computer hardware
- Understanding of server administration (including firmware, UEFI, BMC, PXE, IPMI,)
- Troubleshooting skills
