SuperGrid Institute brings together 180 employees, of 28 different nationalities who work together within a dynamic environment in the city of Lyon. As an independent research and innovation centre, we are dedicated to developing technologies for the future power transmission system, the “supergrid”, including HVDC & MVDC technologies.
**General context**
**Objectives / missions**
- design the topology and control of power electronics converters according to the state of the art (products, patents, publications) and to meet the electric network requirements,
- specify the requirements of converter components,
- develop the cost-performance models for the system techno-economic analysis,
- contribute to the tests of converter prototypes in order to verify the compliance with requirements, and topology and control design,
- propose innovations and contribute to scientific articles,
- write technical reports,
- coordinate the work with internal and external project resources (engineers, managers, subcontractors and suppliers),
- supervise students and trainees,
- lead work package execution.
- 5 year experience in power electronics and/or power systems R&D,
- PhD or master (or equivalent) in electrical engineering,
- strong analysis and synthesis skills,
- team work,
- autonomy,
- proactivity,
- problem solving,
- presentation skills,
- rigour,
- curiosity and creativity,
- english or French speaking and willing to speak both.
