**Job Description**:
Accountabilities:
**_ Medical Underwriting and Claims_**
- Management of all medical underwriting and claims teams in EMELA, responsible for recruitment, development, motivation and organisation of expert teams (currently 15 headcount).
- Delivery of medical underwriting services in line with treaty obligations and business development objectives of our commercial teams - including case work and client support services (wording, philospohy, process, audit, referral, advice).
- Manage relationships with consultants and CMOs to achieve best service quality
- Develop and implement best practice procedures in underwriting and claims, working with the Global Underwriting team.
- Drive innovation in underwriting and claims, work with other departments in R&D projects - particularly our central services and underwriting teams.
- Ensure compliance with Partner Re’s processes and controls, incl. quality of underwriting and claims data

Wording Management_**
- Maintain best practice in wording across the team, including new wording repositories and manitenace of wording libraries of current exposures.

Senior Management_**
- Provide expert view in EMELA stategic and annual planning.
- Work with management team and CEO on urgent priorities
- such as important in force or new business issues.
- Raise the profile PartnerRe via publications, public speaking etc., represent Partner Re in industry bodies and associations

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- Management experience, or at least a good understanting of the requirements and demands of management if coming from a technical background.
- At least 10 years experience in life reinsurance business. Including technical as well as commercial. This can be from a actuarial or underwriting / claims background. Good understanding of Life, CI and disability products.
- Experience in working with or managing and developing diverse teams.
- Experience in delivering external and internal projects.
- Experience in product development is a plus
- Fluent in English; ablility to communicate in other languages (German, French and/or Spanish) is a plus
- Network of contacts to peers at other reinsurers and insurers
