**Bioinformatics Engineer - Operations Department**
**Who We Are**:
PathoQuest is a specialized service provider (CRO), a spin off of the Institut Pasteur, which offers innovative solutions for the Quality Control of pharmaceutical products of biological origin. PathoQuest offers biotech innovators around the world a complete expert service from the receipt of samples to the production of certificates of analysis. Its tests use proprietary sample processing protocols, an NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) sequencing platform and specialized bioinformatics analysis pipelines. Currently in the scale-up phase, we have around fifty employees in France and the United States.
We are currently looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer within our Operations department.
**Your Role**:
Within the Operations department, under the responsibility of the Head of Bioinformatics, you ensure the follow-up, execution and timely reporting of bioinformatics analyzes of data produced by the company’s sequencing platforms, mainly those relating to viral safety and genetic characterization services.
- Participate in the production activities of the company and their evolutions
- Perform internal and external customer analyzes
- Follow the company’s quality approach during the design, development and deployment phases of bioinformatics software products, in particular by writing the associated documents (functional specifications, test book)
- Ensure an effective technological watch in bioinformatics
- Participate in the quality assurance of products according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Training in bioinformatics with experience working with bioinformatics data from Illumina or Nanopore platforms
- You master bioinformatics development languages such as Python and R
- You are comfortable working in a Linux environment and on high performance computing servers
- You know how to analyze high-throughput sequencing data and interpret the results.
- Technical skills: De Novo & Guided Assembly, Mapping, Linux, NCBI, NGS, Blast.
- Knowledge of biology (molecular and cellular biology, genomics and genetics).
- Knowledge of GMP-type quality standards.
- A good level of English is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team and at the interface between several disciplines
- Excellent rigor in process monitoring
- Curiosity and interest in rapidly changing fields
- Relational qualities and adaptability
- Autonomy and sense of initiative
