Field Operations Manager

**About the Company**

Bloomfield is a plant imaging platform shaping the future of precision agriculture. We scan farms and vineyards at scale (capturing high resolution imagery and other sensor data), analyze every plant, and derive actionable intelligence to help growers be more efficient and productive. We collaborate with a variety of movement platform companies, from ATV and tractor manufacturers to robotics startups.

**About the Role**

The Field Operations Manager has a strong background in viticulture and vineyard operations, is mechanically inclined with farm equipment and is enthusiastic to work with new, emerging technologies on the cutting edge of precision agriculture. Day to day activities include oversight of our France customers, and working closely with the internal technology team to collect and process data, provide data analysis and insights and is the primary link between Bloomfield and the customer. This full-time position is a combination of hands-on work in the field, remote project management and customer support, and will support the rapid growth of an early stage company.

**Location**: France cities near Bordeaux, Montpellier or Toulouse

**Responsibilities**
- Schedule customer visits and scanning operations
- Participate in customer communication; conduct daily field staff and support customers
- Educate the field staff, outside service providers, and customers about the process Bloomfield uses to collect and analyze data from the field to result in actionable information, and ensure that the process is followed
- Use the Flash camera in the field properly, efficiently and with a thorough understanding of how it functions
- Conduct initial block information gathering, organization, and entry of data
- Execute block setup, including field marker installation and GPS coordinate gathering
- Provide administrative support for the field operation staff and outside service providers
- Provide backup support to other field operation employees in their absence
- Schedule necessary travel to customer vineyards
- Majority of travel is regional by car/truck
- Balance competing priorities and ensure essential functions are completed in a timely manner and/or by assigned date
- Engage with the Bloomfield team and customers to inform/discuss in the field learnings

**Qualifications**
- Must be fluent in French and English
- Located in France in a city near Bordeaux, Montpellier or Toulouse
- Ability to travel to remote customers in France potentially up to 25% of the time
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
- Viticulturist experience preferred
- General understanding of vineyard operations
- Strong understanding of technology
- A valid driver’s license; ability to rent a car/truck
- An ability to work independently in a remote capacity to facilitate accurate data collection activities
- Excel at process improvement
- Team oriented, strive for the team to achieve its goals and successes
- Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Self-starter able to work independently with mínimal direction
- Available to work overtime as necessary
- Proven time management skills

**Physical Requirements**
- Lift and move at least 40 lbs
- Work up to 8 hours a day and/or 5 days or longer a week during a good part of the growing season
