Freelance Product Development Manager

**GANNI IS LOOKING FOR A FREELANCE FULL-TIME PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER TO JOIN OUR BAGS & SMALL ACCESSORIES TEAM IN PARIS**

**YOUR MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES AHEAD OF YOU**
As a Product Development Manager, you will be referring to the Head of Sourcing & Production for Accessories.

You will be in charge of development for bags and small accessories, working in direct collaboration with the designer, to source and develop the designated category.

You will oversee the full development process for an assigned product group, ensuring alignment with design requirements and timelines. Your focus will be on high-quality product outcomes, efficient workflow management, and strategic material sourcing to support our line plan goals.

**Your key responsibilities will be**:

- **Product Lifecycle Management**:
Oversee product group development from concept through SMS delivery, ensuring all stages align with critical path and delivery schedules.

Collaborate closely with design teams to meet their request in sampling.
- **Material Sourcing and Development**

Source new materials based on design inputs, working closely with the material management.

Increasing the use of innovative materials on the category.
- **Supplier Relations**

Allocate suppliers in alignment with Production Management, ensuring they meet product quality and delivery requirements.

Prepare and communicate style set-ups and necessary corrections to suppliers, with regular communication and travel to reach expectations.
- **Data and Workflow Management**

Create and maintain master data in PLM systems, ensuring data accuracy.
- **Cost and Price Management**

Lead price negotiations to meet target margins, while maintaining quality levels.
- **Sample Collection Management**

Order sample collections (Proto, SMS, Weartest) based on agreed timelines, and ensuring the best quality of samples.

Review, comment and approve samples.

**MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS**

**We need a team player with a high sense of the fashion business**:

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in luxury product development of bags and small accessories.
- Experience working within an international luxury brand.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including designers, material developers, and production managers.
- Strong technical knowledge of bags and all related trims.
- Strong understanding of materials, particularly non-leather and innovative alternatives, related to the product category.
- A strong passion for responsibility, with a keen interest in material innovation and emerging technologies within the fashion and accessories industry.
- Strong supplier portfolio related to bags and small accessories.
- Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with suppliers.
- Strong understanding of critical timelines related to the fashion industry.
- Organizational skills with a strong sense of urgency. Capability to adapt to multiple collection timelines and production lead times.
- High level of written and spoken English with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft NAVISION and/or PLM is an advantage.
