You will join a team of specialists in Physical Chemistry deploying its skills along the steel production routes. The main technical domains of the team are: mass and heat transfert during solidification, solidification microstructural investigation, thermodynamics and thermomechanics. You will work transversally with the other research clusters (Steelmaking, Metallic Coating) and worldwide with the ArcelorMittal R&D labs and academic partners.

We are a team of engineers who are passionate about Physical Chemistry, Thermodynamics and Thermomechanics with a strong commitment to develop solutions for the steelmaking processes based on our know how. We are looking for a talented colleague sharing the same interests.

**Your role**

Your missions will be to provide process guidelines to ArcelorMittal plants where solidification related phenomena are key topic:

- To produce steel in a sustainable way through knowledge development on new solidification conditions (i.e. adaptation of process to raise scrap usage)
- To mitigate defect occurrence through lab trials and numerical simulation of the process

The scientific and technical skills we are looking for are:

- Mastering of multi-physics phenomena involved in solidification. Thermodynamics skills are a plus.
- Strong interest for doing experiments and numerical modelling.

You will enter our international network consisting of many researchers and engineers in industrial plants and academia. We are committed to helping you quickly acquire the knowledge and tools necessary for your job through permanent coaching from the entire Physical Chemistry team.

Career development is possible either in R&D or in industrial plants, depending on the opportunities and your wishes.

**Your profile**
- You hold a PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy with knowledge in materials solidification, materials mechanical behavior modelling or thermodynamics.
- You are fluent in English.
- You are able to make experiments in laboratory and launching numerical simulation.
- You have skills in multi-physics solidification phenomena.
- You are pragmatic and with an entrepreneurship-oriented mind.
- You are able to make report both with analysis and synthesis mind.
- You have good relationships ability in a team work, in internal and external networks.
