As a Barclays Financial Control Manager, you will be part of the Barclays Europe (BE) Financial Control team, accountable for all aspects of financial and statistical regulatory reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The team is an integrated member of the Barclays Group reporting team, acting as trusted finance partners with businesses and functions supporting the Barclays International operating segment, and the Corporate and Investment Bank activities (CIB).

**What will you be doing?**
- Closing Monthly/Quarterly/Annually (IFRS/NGAAP), ensuring financial statements accurately capture and comply with items under IFRS (e.g., IFRS16, IAS37, IFRS9, etc.) and French GAAP
- Ensuring all Balance Sheet and P&L variances are understood, both from a business and technical accounting perspective
- Working with colleagues in Europe and India, maintaining a robust control framework for month-end BS and P&L, including the meeting of key internal and external financial reporting deadlines
- Assisting with various tax deliverables to the local tax team (e.g., VAT preparation, CIT, Transfer Pricing MI, accrual, and payment for local taxes)
- Accounting for the delivery of the annual Fichier d'Ecritures Comptables (‘FEC’) in a timely manner
- Performing Group Reporting deliverables (e.g., Analytical Review, FINREP, Statutory Reporting, Critical Functions, etc.) including deliverables prepared by the team based in India
- Providing assistance and limited oversight for French regulatory reporting, including Statistical reporting, Anacredit reporting, and other ad hoc submissions
- Managing the annual external audit process, and provision of assistance with regards to any other relevant internal audit or external regulatory review/examinations
**What we’re looking for**:
- Previous experience of French GAAP and IFRS accounting, plus a professional accountancy qualification from a recognised body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CA, DSCG, DEC)
- Fluent in both French and English in a workplace setting with excellent written and oral business communication skills, high attention to detail and a tenacious desire to deliver excellent service
- Extensive experience of working within a Finance function of Financial Institution or auditing Financial Services companies
- Experience of working with large volumes of data via MS Excel, VBA, etc. plus ability to work in a fast-changing environment, meet deadlines and work flexibly in a small team
**Skills that will help you in the role**:
- Experience of working within a Group reporting and matrix-based framework
- Ability to manage regulator expectations and challenges
- Experience of working banking, particular with regards to Financial Reporting of Corporate and Investment Banking products
- Knowledge of Barclays third party financial accounting systems (e.g., SAP, etc.)
