Head of Life Risk

The Risk Coverage department is part of the CRO area and is responsible for the following main activities:
- Definition and development of SCOR’s Risk Management system (eg Monitoring of risk exposure, ALM, liquidity frameworks, Internal Control System )
- Oversight and support of Risk Management activities to ensure consistent approach across all SCOR entities in scope
- Risk analyses and reporting to Executive Management and the Board
- Management of the Capital Shield Strategy
- Management of the Group Referral process
Each activity is carried out in close liaison with:
- the other departments of the CRO area (Central Pricing, Risk Capital and Modelling, Group Actuarial and Prudential Affairs )
- SCOR Life & Health, SCOR P&C and SCOR Investments
- CFO and COO areas
- Develop and maintain the risk management mechanism for SCOR’s Life business, including but not limited to, risk appetite and limits, evolution of risk exposure in coordination with other teams within the Risk Coverage department
- Production of risk analyses to provide insights, in relation to SCOR’s Life business
- Lead the quarterly Life Risk Committee and coordination of the agenda with the Chair of the commitee, Manage Group referrals for Life including strategic developments
- Interact and build relationships throughout the SCOR Group and the Life business unit, particularly in relation to risk management
- Ensure risk appetite, risk monitoring and reporting are appropriate to the nature and size of the business and are consistent across SCOR
- Ensure that work is streamlined between the Group and Legal entities eg on production of analyses
- Review analyses and reports that are produced by, or for the Legal Entities
- Lead the team of Legal Entity CROs or risRisk Managers reporting to the position
- University degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or comparable flied. Qualified actuary or equivalent quantitative background
- 10 years practical experience infina Life (re)insurance risk analysis
- Ability to grasp, create and develop new practical risk-related concepts to further progress the effectiveness of internal and external ERM communication
- Strong people management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to challenge and build consensus
- Conscientious, curious and enthusiastic
