Position Overview

The Commercial Marketing Director is a Marketing leader responsible for defining and executing medium- to long-term commercial strategies across global markets and distribution channels. This role drives optimal brand visibility, commercial performance, and customer experience across retail, e-commerce, on-trade, and travel retail. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision and category management expertise with operational excellence, leveraging insights to drive equity and commercial impact across the House of Brands portfolio. This role is newly-created – it is mandatory for the successful candidate to be a self-starter, with the ability to deliver excellence in output, at pace.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy, Category Management & Activation

  • Develop medium- and long-term commercial strategies and go-to-market plans, including pricing, portfolio and SKU management, and channel mix optimization.
  • Construct annual commercial plans and global implementation guidelines; oversee sell-in and monitor market execution.
  • Lead innovation launch planning, including selling story development, customer targeting, and activation strategy.
  • Synthesize consumer, customer, and category insights to inform commercial decisions and channel strategies.
  • Lead global pricing and promotional strategy.
  • Lead global category management, acting as "category captain" for Markets.
  • Drive optimal effectiveness in brand SKUs and range, in partnership with finance and supply chain.
  • Lead customer knowledge, category analysis, and insight application to build brand programs.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of brand commercial performance, collaborating with House and global Market colleagues to provide actionable insight and reporting.

Channel Marketing & Brand Activation

  • Design and implement tailored marketing strategies for each channel to enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Leverage customer data and trends for targeted campaign strategy and planning.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Engage and influence global Market teams to ensure all brand activity is on strategy and driving impact and performance.
  • Win hearts and minds of global Market colleagues, activity building the reputation of the House team.
  • Act as a leader and mentor within the House marketing function, supporting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage external relationships, including agencies and production suppliers.
  • Collaborate effectively cross-functionally including with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Legal to align strategies and ensure execution.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage the House A&P budget to ensure efficient spend and financial management reporting.
  • Deliver programs to global Markets with both pace and excellence.
  • Ensure global programs are executed in-Market, maximising the return of House A&P/ resources.
  • Monitor performance metrics and adapt strategies to meet commercial objectives.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in brand management or commercial strategy within CPG, luxury, or alcoholic beverages, including experience in a global role/ context.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience leading business analysis.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset, taking personal accountability.
  • Customer-oriented, with ability to shape strategies and propositions for multiple audiences.
  • A demonstrable global perspective.
  • Commercially savvy.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills; adept at working in matrixed, international environments.
  • Curious, creative, with growth-mindset.
  • Demonstrable ability to initiate projects, generate momentum, and drive pace.
  • Fluent in English.
