The role

We are seeking a Deputy Director for Arbitration and ADR – Europe. In this role you will assist in developing and promoting ICC's Dispute Resolution Services (DRS) across the European continent, under the direction of the Head of Global DRS Development and in collaboration with the Director of Arbitration and ADR – Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

Expanding the use of ICC dispute resolution services

• Effectively increase the reach of ICC DRS by pursuing specific opportunities for ICC DRS to strengthen and develop ICC's existing user base and attract new users.
• Engage with key external stakeholders (corporate counsels, law firms, chambers of commerce and state entities) to build a strong network of trusted connections in Europe.
• Identify and lead on opportunities to promote the services of the ICC Hearing Centre to the local, regional and international legal community.
• Build visibility and credibility for ICC DRS through strong influencing skills, and by leveraging knowledge of arbitration and ADR rules and procedures to represent and engage with the regional arbitration and legal communities.
• Leverage ICC's network in Europe (national committees, ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (YAAF), ICC Court Members) to enhance the use and awareness of ICC DRS.

Building knowledge of the arbitration and ADR environment in Europe

• Understand and monitor the evolution of the legal and arbitration environment in Europe to report into the ICC global team.
• Analyse regional trends and anticipate opportunities to develop existing users and services, track key relationships, and report on the success of initiatives.
• Closely monitor relationship with key regional players and the evolution of specific dispute resolution expectations of users in Europe.

Creating relevant content

• Contribute to the preparation of tailored assets and collateral to promote business opportunities across Europe.
• Organise and participate in selected regional conferences, seminars, including coordinating programmes, budgets and logistics.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders

• Collaborate with colleagues in developing best practices for the benefit of the wider team in the spirt of 'one global team'.
• Exemplify excellence to foster an agile and responsive team mindset.
• Build connections with events, promotion, communications, research and other business services across ICC.

Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Hold degree level qualification (preferably legal or business) with knowledge of dispute resolution, particularly international arbitration;
• Have a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in a global professional organisation;
• Possess a strong business development acumen, with a proven track record in a legal environment being an advantage;
• Demonstrate strong emotional and cultural intelligence, proactive thinking, autonomy in execution, and mature professional judgment;
• Have multi-tasking abilities and demonstrated capabilities to meet concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
• Possess excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills in English with the proven ability to draft substantive copy (fluency in French or other major European languages is an asset);
• Have excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders;
• Are able to travel across Europe for key engagements.
• Have an extensive working knowledge of MS Office programmes (knowledge of CRM systems and affinity for digital tools and platforms is a plus).
