VP Finance

AQEMIA is seeking a VP Finance to refine and lead its financial and corporate operations.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP Finance will act as a trusted sparring partner to the CEO and Leadership Team. This role is central to guide strategic decision-making, strengthen governance and build scalable finance, legal and corporate operations.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the financial backbone of a cutting-edge AI drug discovery company at a critical stage of its journey.

The role will be based in Paris.

• Financial Strategy & Business Partnership: Own financial strategy, planning, and forecasting. Partner closely with the CEO on fundraising and strategic decisions. Build advanced financial models for long-term scientific partnerships. Deliver clear insights to support business and scientific choices. Ensure strong cash, treasury, and liquidity management. Build scalable financial tools and processes. Lead high-impact, CEO-sponsored initiatives.

• Capital Strategy & Investor Relations: Drive capital strategy and investor relations. Prepare Board and investor materials. Shape funding scenarios and runway planning. Lead non-dilutive financing. Build trusted investor relationships.

• Governance, Legal & Corporate Matters: Oversee corporate, legal, and governance matters. Manage external advisors. Harmonize practices across entities and geographies. Support the setup of SpinCos and a hub-and-spoke model.

• Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing Finance team. Set a culture of rigor and accountability. Stay hands-on while scaling. Partner with HR on compensation, equity, and hiring.

• Prepare Board decks, investor presentations, data rooms and due diligence materials.
• Partner closely with the CEO on runway forecasting and funding scenarios.
• Lead non-dilutive financing initiatives, including grants and public funding.
• Build strong, credible relationships with existing and future investors.

• You are eager to play an active role in shaping and supporting Aqemia's strategy to develop transformative drugs.
• You aspire to become one of the CEO's key sparring partners, providing (i) thoughtful challenge and sound judgment, and (ii) act as a strong business partner, forward-looking and solution-oriented, with an opportunistic and positive mindset to turn financial insights into actionable decisions.
• Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in AI, science and innovation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — direct, succinct, and to the point — always constructive
• Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable operating in fast-paced, scaling environments.
• Fluent in English & in French.
