Senior PLM Pre-Sales Consultant

The PLM Pre-Sales Consultant (Services) plays a key role in supporting the sales process for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions by demonstrating the value of professional services, implementation approaches, and best-practice methodologies. The consultant works closely with account managers, solution architects, and delivery teams to understand customer needs, design service offerings, and articulate how the proposed services will accelerate business transformation and ensure successful PLM deployment.
60% as Presales and 40% as delivery
Key responsibilities
- Support the sales cycle by preparing and delivering presentations, demos, and workshops related to PLM services, implementation methodology, and integration strategies.
- Analyze customer requirements (business processes, engineering workflows, data management practices) to design tailored PLM service proposals.
- Create service offers including project scopes, implementation roadmaps, effort estimates, pricing models, and staffing plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product management, technical consultants, delivery teams) to align service proposals with product capabilities and organizational best practices.
- Participate in RFI/RFP responses, ensuring the services content is accurate, competitive, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Demonstrate subject-matter expertise across PLM domains such as configuration management, BOM management, change management, CAD integrations, and manufacturing process planning.
- Support contract negotiations by clarifying service scope and delivery commitments.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, translating technical capabilities into clear business benefits.
Technical skills
- Strong understanding of PLM and product lifecycle management (configuration, change management, BOM, documentation, workflows). Ideally PTC Windchill, Siemens TeamCenter and Dassault 3DX accepted
- Solid knowledge of industrial processes: mechanical/electrical design, industrialization, production, quality, after-sales.
- Understanding of solution architectures (PLM/ERP/MES/CAD integration, interfaces, data flows).
- Proficiency with demo and presentation tools (3D CAD, digital mock-up tools, basic prototyping or scripting tools).
- Ability to estimate project workload, risk assessment
Soft and sales skills
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to understand business and political stakes on the customer side.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences (executives, purchasing, finance).
- Strong presentation skills, storytelling around demos, ability to convince a
- nd handle objections.
- Synthesis and writing skills to produce high-quality documents (proposals, presentations, meeting minutes).
- Enjoy working closely with sales, consultants, and partners.
- Experience writing SOWs, service descriptions, and project plans.
- Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Proficient to challenge customer requirements to extract the reals needs of customers
Profile
- 5–7 years of experience in PLM consulting, pre-sales, or solution architecture.
- Solid experience in PLM (consulting, implementation or administration) and understanding of engineering/industrial processes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Fluency in French and good professional level of English (presentations, documentation, international workshops.
- International experience and a willingness to travel in France and in Europe
- High level of autonomy and adaptability.
