Spark Cleantech is a fast-growing and innovative start-up developing a breakthrough process that
replaces the combustion of hydrocarbons
in high-temperature industrial furnaces and in materials production with an alternative that is
not only fully decarbonised, but also economically competitive
and requires only minimal adaptation to existing industrial processes.

Following the successful deployment of an industrial pilot on a client site in 2024 and a major funding round in 2025, we are now building our first industrial standard.

Your Role
As part of the Technology & Product department and reporting to the Technology & Product Director, your main mission will be to support Spark's technological development and the building of its industrial demonstrator by leading the development of Spark's proprietary technologies.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• As team lead, leading and contributing in the design and validation of plasma torches, in close coordination with other technical teams, particularly electrical, mechanical, and test & validation teams.
• Ensuring that the team's deliverables are consistent with the schedule and comply with system technical requirements.
• Managing and supervising subcontractors and service providers, and ensuring the quality of both physical deliverables and technical documentation.
• Contributing to the development and execution of test plans for the different torch technologies under development.
• Defining calculation cases in close collaboration with the simulation team.
• Supporting Spark's intellectual property strategy through active patent monitoring and the protection of new inventions.

Your Profile

• Engineer graduated from a top-tier engineering school, ideally holding a PhD in Electric Arcs, Plasma Science
• At least 10 years of experience in high-power plasma torch development
• Strong expertise in plasma torch design
• Proven planning capability with a strong results-oriented mindset
• Experience in managing teams and external suppliers
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Open-minded and team player
