Mercer's European M&A Team is seeking a dedicated Private Equity Business Developer Director M/F to join our team and work closely with Marsh McLennan's (MMC) Private Equity Client Managers. This role is focused exclusively on supporting private equity clients with Human Capital topics throughout the investment lifecycle, from target assessment and due diligence, through Day 1 and 100-day planning, to portfolio company optimisation and exit strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements alongside MMC Private Equity Client Managers, acting as Mercer's trusted advisor on M&A and portfolio company projects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships and credibility with private equity clients and internal MMC teams, collaborating closely with Client Managers, Sales Professionals, and other stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the delivery of Mercer's human capital solutions tailored to private equity needs, ensuring high-quality, timely execution.

  • Provide expert guidance on a broad range of human capital topics including HR due diligence, organizational design and governance, leadership, talent management, total rewards, culture, change management and communications, and HR delivery models.

  • Support private equity firms in optimizing portfolio company performance through strategic human capital initiatives aligned with investment objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant consulting experience with a strong focus on Human Capital in M&A transactions.

  • Proven ability to lead client engagements and manage senior client relationships effectively.

  • Expertise in HR due diligence, organizational design, leadership and talent strategies, total rewards, culture transformation, change management, and HR delivery models.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the private equity investment lifecycle.

  • Strong financial background and solid understanding of business financials, business plans and the private equity investment model.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
