If you want to push boundaries, shape the future and be part of a Group deeply committed to excellence and inclusiveness, L’Oréal Finance & Legal is where you belong. Join our COMPASS Tech Team as Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Platform Lead to shape and evolve COMPASS and its IBM Planning Analytics platform, empowering over 3,000 finance controllers worldwide through strategic ownership, AI-augmented roadmap innovations and hands-on solution development. Here’s how you will have a role to play in this team:
• Own Platform Vision & Technical Direction: Define the platform's core capabilities across AI automation, simulation, workflow, visualization, aggregation and access management. Translate Finance priorities, Group steering needs and emerging AI / EPM trends into a medium-to-long-term platform roadmap, reviewed quarterly with Group Finance Transformation leadership, and set technical guidelines for applications built on it.
• Drive the Strategic Partnership with IBM: Build on a 10+ year partnership to co-develop and implement the platform evolution strategy, aligning L'Oréal's strategic needs with IBM Planning Analytics (IBM PA) developments and actively influencing the vendor's product roadmap.
• Lead Platform Evolution & Service Sustainability: Deliver major upgrades, new components, feature redesigns and platform simplification, steering service providers and budgets while overseeing annual version migrations and complex L2/L3 topics (around one third of the role).
• Build & Validate Innovative Solutions: Personally lead, design, build and test mock-ups, prototypes and proofs of concept around Agentic AI, smart simulation engines and modern front-end experiences, drawing on experts and transferring validated solutions to project and run teams with comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer needed to scale.
• Safeguard Platform Architecture & Lead Design Governance: Translate Finance needs into reusable platform capabilities and chair the Design Authority to uphold architectural coherence, simplicity and long-term maintainability. Act as the go-to expert for Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), redirecting, constructively declining requests that compromise these principles. Ensure core capabilities are fully operational before handing over application integration to project teams. The skills that you will need to make an impact:
• 8+ years of experience, including 5+ years in EPM / planning solutions preferably IBM PA, with proven product or platform ownership as well as large-scale transformation or redesign experience.
• Hands-on expertise in IBM PA, with the ability to build, configure and test. In-depth PAW expertise is a strong asset; broader ecosystem expertise will be highly valued.
• An architecture mindset, with a strong understanding of complex business and technical processes, the ability to analyze and redesign them into coherent, scalable solutions, and validate architectural choices through hands-on prototyping before handover to project and run teams.
• Roadmap and backlog management, with experience steering external service providers and managing strategic vendor relationships.
• Strong Finance acumen (simulation, reporting, consolidation, closing), active EPM market watch and a strong appetite for Agentic AI, automation, UX/UI and application design applied to enterprise planning and finance processes.
• Influential leadership and communication skills in an international matrix environment, aligning experts without hierarchical authority, challenging requests constructively and presenting to senior management.
• Master's degree (BAC+5) or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field, with full professional proficiency in English and French. Here's what sets us apart — and what you can expect from the journey with us.
