The City is seeking a current college or university student, or someone who will be enrolled in college or university in the near future, who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in video production, social media, and email/text message design, execution and evaluation in a municipal government setting. An optional area of emphasis is helping City staff develop effective ways to communicate through video and social media with audiences that may be difficult to reach through traditional communication methods. Internship Description Interns will contribute to the complete creative communication process: from developing an idea through evaluating its impact. Communication outlets include the City's TV channel, social media, email, text messaging and Granbury.org. Interns will regularly use both creative thinking and hands-on technical skills while working on real City communication projects. Desired Skills And Qualities

• An introduction to all areas of municipal government, along with detailed experience in municipal government internal and external communications This internship is ideal for current college or university students, as well as students preparing to begin college or university soon, who want hands-on experience in all stages of TV and social media communication, with an emphasis on municipal government. Almost all work is completed at Granbury City Hall or nearby locations. Special Requirements The internship averages 20 hours per week, with flexible weekday hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Interns should also expect approximately two evening or weekend assignments per month for City Council meetings or special events. Miscellaneous Information If the student has access to video production software, they may occasionally work remotely on projects. Many on-location video production activities are required. Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university or have plans to enroll in a college or university in the near future. Special Requirements Average of 20 hours a week. Flexible weekdays between 8:30am and 5:00pm. Approx. twice monthly evening or weekend hours for Council meetings or special events.
