Own the life of the product in Europe, from buying to the selling floor. The Senior Merchandising & Product Training Manager drives category performance, assortment and distribution across the region, and makes sure every collection is understood, told and sold the ICICLE way by the store teams. The role is the key link between the central Business Unit in Shanghai, the stores and Europe HQ, combining analytical rigour, a genuine eye for product and hands-on training of retail teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PILLAR 1 — RETAIL MERCHANDISING Performance & Planning
• Own weekly and monthly KPI follow-up (sales, sell-through, stock cover, full-price ratio) by store, category and collection, and turn it into concrete actions: replenishment, transfers, product focuses.
• Lead OTB planning for Europe within the worldwide framework and prepare the regional business reviews for the CODIR.
• Track in-season performance and steer end-of-season decisions (rebalancing, markdowns, outlet and returns to China) together with Retail Operations. Buying & Assortment
• Represent Europe at the two annual buying sessions in Shanghai: consolidate market needs, define the buying strategy by product line and store cluster, place orders and monitor KPIs live.
• Build and maintain the permanent offer by cluster and drive SKU additions or phase-outs based on sales and market feedback.
• Define store allocation and rebalancing in line with cluster strategy, in coordination with Supply Chain and the ADV & Logistics team. Product Expertise & Market Insight
• Bring a fine understanding of product dimensions — price, size curves, materials, colours — by market and customer nationality.
• Run continuous competitive monitoring (positioning, launches, pricing, best-sellers) across the luxury landscape in Europe.
• Feed structured product and customer insights back to Shanghai to shape future collections. PILLAR 2 — PRODUCT TRAINING Collection Knowledge
• Become the product reference for Europe: master the story, materials, construction and selling points of each collection ahead of launch.
• Design and deliver pre-launch product briefings for store teams — collection story, key pieces, materials, styling and argumentation — ahead of each showroom and delivery. Training & Store Support
• Run regular in-store product training sessions and support Store Managers in anchoring product knowledge at team level, including new hires’ onboarding.
• Partner with Training and Clienteling to translate product knowledge into the selling ceremony and contribute the product modules of the CHARM framework.
• Build simple, ready-to-use reference tools (sell sheets, lookbooks, argumentaires, care guides) adapted to Sales Advisors’ daily use.
• Measure training impact through store KPIs (sell-through of key pieces, UPT, conversion) and in-store feedback, and adjust content accordingly.
• Work with VM and Retail Operations so that the product story lands consistently in store, from delivery to the selling floor. KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS
• Sell-through and stock cover in line with OTB targets, by store and by category.
• Quality and timeliness of buying-session preparation and orders.
• Product knowledge level of the store teams (training coverage, assessments, mystery shopping).
• Performance of the key pieces and focus products after each briefing. PROFILE
• 7–10 years in retail merchandising and/or product roles, ideally in a luxury fashion Maison, with first experience in training or presenting product to retail teams.
• Fluent English and French; Mandarin is a strong plus.
• Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/SUMIFS); Anaplan / SAP a plus.
• Strategic, data-driven and genuinely passionate about product — fabrics, cut, finishings — with sharp attention to detail.
• A natural pedagogue: clear, engaging and comfortable in front of store teams; hands-on and close to the field.
• Able to work across cultures and time zones with the teams in Shanghai; available to travel (Shanghai twice a year, Dublin).
