About The Role
Company: DECODE Ingeniería We are seeking a skilled, professional draftsperson with proven experience in civil engineering drafting. You should have years of hands-on experience producing real civil infrastructure drawings—including site plans, longitudinal and cross-sections, standard details, and construction drawings—and understand that poorly referenced plans can lead to costly errors on site. At DECODE Ingeniería, we are a team of around 20 technical professionals preparing project documentation and managing construction for public administrations and private clients across the Balearic Islands: ports, urban development, facilities, and hydraulic infrastructure. This is a permanent position, arising from an ongoing public contract. What You’ll Do Draft complete graphical documentation for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD. Survey and maintain as-built records for operational infrastructure. Integrate this information into our geospatial environment: export/import between DWG/DXF and SHP/GeoPackage, georeference data, and ensure consistency between drawings and spatial databases. Collaborate closely with project engineers and the team developing our infrastructure digitization tools. Desired Qualifications Several years of professional experience in drafting and geographic information systems (GIS). Advanced AutoCAD proficiency, demonstrated through real-world civil engineering drafting roles. Experience with QGIS (if your background is exclusively with ArcGIS, please still apply—our tender specifically requires QGIS). Knowledge of spatial databases: PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SpatiaLite, GeoPackage (with querying), or Oracle Spatial. Familiarity with CAD–GIS data exchange formats (DXF, SHP, GeoPackage, KML) and practical experience transferring data between systems. Residence in Mallorca or willingness to relocate. Bonus Points For Civil 3D or Revit for linear infrastructure (railway projects for ADIF, SFM, tramways). Experience with operational infrastructure projects. LiDAR, point clouds, or drone-based photogrammetry. Python scripting applied to QGIS. Catalan language skills. Prior experience working with public administrations in the Balearic Islands.
