Job Description
UNIVITY is looking for a Space Segment AIV/AIT engineer to join the team in our Toulouse office. As the Space Segment AIV/AIT Engineer, you will participate in the development of the integration and validation solutions required for the manufacturing of our in-house units. You will also participate in the integration and validation of our VLEO uniShape and uniSky satellites. During the first phase of the mission, under the leadership of the On-Board Processor Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and consolidation of OBP integration and validation activities. During the second phase, under the leadership of the Satellite Space Segment AIV/AIT Manager, you will support the design and physical implementation of the production lines. The initial objective will be to manufacture and test two demonstrator satellites, followed by the production of more than 1,500 satellites within a three-year timeframe. These production satellites will have greater capabilities than the two initial demonstrators. Key Responsibilities
And Tasks On-Board Processor
• Conduct all activities (HW, xGSEs) required to ensure the proper integration of the units from a mechanical, thermal, and electrical standpoint, including EMC considerations.
• Prepare, organize, and lead OBP validation tests.
• Manage technical relationships with cleanroom and test subcontractors. In Orbit Demo mission
• Contribute to ensuring the consistency of the overall validation plan, from individual units to satellite-level and end-to-end (E2E) testing, based on inputs from the functional chain owners.
• Support the definition of the integration flow in collaboration with the subcontractor through a co-engineering approach.
• Contribute to the verification of the proposed integration line (EGSE, MGSE, tools, etc.) against the In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) objectives.
• Assist the technical relationship with the Assembly & Validation subcontractor.
• Support the AIT and AIV Activities in the clean room for the full project. Target mission
• Support the definition of the qualification and Flight Model (FM) validation plan for the constellation satellites, ensuring alignment with the relevant functional chains.
• Support trade-off analyses related to the Final Assembly Line (FAL), including make-or-buy decisions, plant sizing, the number of FALs required, Factory 4.0 integration, smart tools, virtual assembly tools, etc.
• Support the RFP/TEB process for the selection of production line suppliers.
• Contribute to the qualification of the production line (Final Assembly Line).
• Support the qualification process for satellites produced on the FAL. Requirements Skills and experience
• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in AIV and/or electrical AIT within the space, automotive, or a similar industry. Hands-on experience with electrical testing of functional chains and electronic units is essential.
