Biology Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your years of advanced biology training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for Biology experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and evaluate cutting-edge AI models that need to think like a scientist. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and subject matter experts who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience required — just deep domain knowledge and a passion for scientific rigor.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
•
Location:
Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
• Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, meaningful problem statements
• Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, depth, and reasoning quality
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to sharpen AI model performance
• Ensure scientific rigor, clarity, and intellectual depth across all deliverables Who You Are
• Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field — Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or equivalent
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research, data analysis, or computational work
• Deep expertise in at least one core area: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
• Exceptionally strong written communicator — you can explain complex science with precision and clarity
• Detail-oriented, rigorous, and self-motivated when working independently
• Fluent in English Nice to Have
• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in computational biology, systems biology, or related quantitative disciplines
• Experience writing scientific content, grant proposals, or peer-reviewed research
• Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation as an end user Why Join Us
• Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
• Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
• Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work
• Put your advanced degree to use on problems that genuinely challenge your expertise
• Contribute to AI development that advances how technology understands and applies scientific knowledge
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
