FROGPUBS – MARKETING MANAGER Paris | Full-time | €50–60k brut | Site-based / hybrid Hospitality or multi-site consumer experience required FrogPubs operates eight pubs in France, and we are looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager who can combine commercial judgement, disciplined thinking and practical execution. This is not primarily a strategy role, a remote digital-marketing role or a job where you manage a large team and delegate the work. You will have support from a part-time content creator, an external CRM specialist and occasional specialist suppliers, but you will personally drive much of the marketing activity. You will spend significant time in the pubs—including some evenings and weekends—understanding what customers are doing, spotting opportunities and problems, and making sure marketing activity actually happens properly. We need someone who can move quickly, but who also knows when to stop and diagnose a problem before jumping to a solution. What you will do: Own the marketing calendar Plan the year around sport, Christmas, major events, terraces, food and drink offers, private bookings, local opportunities and individual pub needs. Turn that plan into clear weekly and monthly actions. Spend time in the pubs Regularly visit the venues and see for yourself what is happening. Understand customers, check whether campaigns are being implemented properly, identify missed opportunities and work with pub managers to fix them. Run campaigns from beginning to end Define the objective and offer, write the brief, coordinate design, CRM, digital advertising, social media, website, screens and POS, make sure the pubs are ready, and then review what actually happened. Manage CRM and loyalty Work with our external CRM specialist and ObyPay to increase loyalty participation, identified transactions and repeat visits. Understand what is working, what is not, and why. Manage content, digital and local visibility Manage the part-time content creator, keep the website and local listings accurate, ensure Google Business Profiles are properly maintained, and make sure social content reflects what is really happening in the pubs. Control paid media and marketing spend Know what we spend, why we spend it and what result we expect. Manage specialist suppliers where necessary, but understand the work well enough to brief them and challenge them. Make marketing work operationally Check that the right offer is on the right screen, the QR code works, the pub team understands the campaign, the booking link goes to the right place and the customer experience matches what we have advertised. Manage suppliers properly Give clear briefs, agree costs before work starts, avoid unnecessary rework, meet deadlines and ensure FrogPubs retains control of its accounts, files, data and access rights. Report simply and commercially Produce one short monthly report covering what we spent, what we did, what happened, what worked, what did not, and what we should change. We care about sales, bookings, transactions, repeat visits and customer behaviour, not marketing activity for its own sake. What we are looking for: You will probably have at least 4–6 years' marketing experience, including hospitality, restaurants, bars, hotels, leisure, retail or another multi-site consumer business. You should be:
• commercially-minded and comfortable being judged on business outcomes;
• comfortable spending significant time in physical venues and working with operational teams;
• able to take a campaign from an idea through to execution and measurement;
• organised enough to handle many competing demands without treating everything as urgent;
• willing to say “not yet” when something is not the right priority;
• analytical enough to diagnose a problem before trying to solve it;
• pragmatic enough to act without needing perfect information;
• able to influence managers and colleagues who do not report to you;
• comfortable with CRM, paid media, social, websites and basic analytics without needing to be a technical specialist in everything;
• an excellent communicator and briefer;
• fluent in French and English, with strong French-language copywriting skills;
• based in or around Paris and prepared to work some evenings and weekends when the business requires it. How we work: There will always be more potentially useful marketing work than one person can do, which means that prioritisation matters. We are not looking for someone who says yes to every idea, asks for every possible piece of data or launches activity before understanding the underlying problem. Nor are we looking for someone who spends weeks analysing when a straightforward problem simply needs fixing. We want someone who can decide what matters, what needs to be understood first, what should happen now, and what should wait. First six months: Your initial priorities will be to gain control and visibility over marketing spend, suppliers and accounts; build a disciplined campaign calendar; increase loyalty penetration towards our 30% target; improve the link between marketing activity and sales/bookings; establish a regular presence in the pubs; and fix the small execution problems that cause us to lose customers or sales.

How to apply
Please do not just send us a CV. Applications without the exercise below will not be considered. Along with your CV, send us one page maximum, in French, answering the following. Part 1 – How you think Friday-evening sales at one Frog pub have fallen by 18% over the last six weeks. The other pubs are broadly flat. The General Manager says: “Marketing needs to do something urgently.” Before proposing any marketing action, tell us:
• The first three questions you would ask, in order.
• Why you would ask each question and how the answer would influence what you do next.
• One thing you would deliberately not do yet, and why. Please do not simply say that you would “analyse the data”. We want to know which information you need first and why. Part 2 – What you have actually done Give us one real example from your own career where you personally identified a commercial or customer problem in a physical venue or multi-site business and did something about it. Tell us briefly: What was happening? What did you personally do? What changed as a result? Use numbers where you have them. No presentation or deck is required. We are much more interested in clear reasoning, specificity and evidence than polished marketing language. Send your CV and the one-page exercise to paul@frogpubs.com
