Job OverviewYou will be part of the Application Engineering team in our Paris/La Défense based office. You will be performing engineering design of lattice-based mechanical parts, simulation, and analysis activities to validate product performance, optimize designs, and ensure compliance with technical requirements. The role involves using CAD and simulation tools to evaluate design feasibility, identify potential issues, and support product development from concept through validation.
Key Responsibilities
• Create, modify, and continuously improve 3D CAD models of the lattice-based mechanical parts to optimize design performance for light-weight and meet project requirements.
• Perform engineering analyses (structural, mechanical, vibration or other relevant simulations) according to project requirements.
• Define simulation parameters, boundary conditions, material properties, and loading conditions according to project requirements.
• Analyze simulation results and prepare technical reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Identify design weaknesses, potential failure modes, and opportunities for product optimization.
• Collaborate with R&D, software, manufacturing and commercial teams.
• Attend and support customer meetings.
• Support design verification and validation through simulation and correlation with physical test results.
• Maintain technical documentation, simulation files, design revisions, and engineering reports.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, internal procedures, and project specifications. Required Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience, degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of CAD and CAE tools relevant to the industry.
• Experience in product design and mechanical simulation.
• Understanding of engineering mechanics, material behavior, and design principles.
• Ability to interpret simulation results and translate them into practical design recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Highly adaptable to rapid changes and evolving project requirements, with strong awareness of emerging design and simulation tools, and keen to propose technical improvement and solution.
• Flexibility to work in small teams, autonomy in managing tasks, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in an international environment, with fluent English mandatory for technical presentations, meetings, and collaboration with international teams. French language is a plus.
• You will be based in our Paris/La Défense office. Occasional business travels to the TETMET Amsterdam office, or to customers may be required, depending on business needs and project requirements.
• This is an on-site position and is not a fully remote role. Software and Tools
• CAD: Fusion 360 (with a plug-in developed internally) and others are plus (Solidworks, Rhino/grasshopper)
• Simulations: ANSYS mainly Workbench, potential to use APDL, LS-DYNA, others are plus.
• Basic programming
skills:
particularly in Python, for automating design tasks, developing small scripts, and creating or optimizing engineering functions and workflows. Recruitment process
• Interview with a Design Engineer: It may include a practical case study based on a realistic engineering scenario. This exercise is intended to encourage technical discussion and assess the candidate’s problem-solving approach, design and simulation reasoning, adaptability, and ability to explain technical decisions. It is not intended to be a formal examination.
• Interview with the Commercial Leadership
• Interview with the CEO
• Offer Others
• Compensation will be disclosed to selected candidates
• TETMET will not support visa applications
• Applications from recruitment agencies will not be considered
